Wildlife
Rocky Mountain National Park is teaming with wildlife. We are not
wildlife experts, nor are we wildlife photographers but we've included
some of our better photos of the critters we saw.
This is one of two deer we saw sitting in the
grass in a small open area near the road. We saw several other
deer, but we were not able to get the camera ready in time or the
pictures did not turn out. |

 |
The chipmunks were friendly,
including this one that got really close to Bob's boot. |
 |
We saw many kinds of birds,
including this magpie. |
|
 |
We saw several elk herds including
this one near the road on the edge of Estes Park. |
Bob saw a family of yellow-bellied marmots
playing near the parking area that the Rock Cut Trail. Stacie
was too tired to get out of the car to look. |

The list of animals we saw includes:
- Mule Deer
- Elk
- Chipmunks
- Gray Squirrels
- Brown Squirrels
- Yellow-Bellied Marmots
- Ravens
- Stellers Jays
- Gray Jays
- Magpies
There are many, many, many more types of animals than this and I know
we saw more birds then are listed. Part of it was a matter of being
in the right place at the right time and not making it to some areas where
certain animals, like big horned sheep were at while we were
there.
