Family Vacation
Our big trip for the
year was to Hickory Hollow Resort on Table
Rock Lake in southern Missouri. It truly was a family
vacation, not only because it was Rachel's first trip, but
also because we shared a cabin with Stacie's mom, dad and
sister. Overall, it was a very relaxing and fun trip. We really
enjoyed sitting on the deck while watching the lake and just taking it easy. It was a great place to go
to clear the mind and recharge the batteries. We also spent
quite a bit of time fishing and swimming.
We did do a little sight-seeing,
making trips into Branson, Eureka Springs, Roaring River State
Park and Pea Ridge National Military Park. |

Stacie's family had taken many trips to Hickory Hollow Resort when
she was growing up. They really enjoyed going back to the old
resort
to see the changes and to visit many familiar stops and shops along
the way. Bob really enjoyed getting to see where Stacie spent
many of her vacations as a kid.
This trip didn't
include nearly as much sight-seeing as many of our other trips,
but that doesn't mean it was any less fun. We had a really
good time. It was nice to park it in one spot for a week and
just
enjoy
nature and be away from the hustle and bustle of everyday
life. Being in a cabin meant we cooked meals and had dishes
to do and stuff, but with five of us splitting things up a little
bit, it wasn't too bad. We were at the resort during a
slower week (schools had just started up) which was nice too.
We really enjoyed our visit there and would highly recommend the area to anyone who likes the outdoors and just the opportunity to get away from it all a little bit too. There are plenty of touristy things to do for those who have to get out and do things.
