Missouri History Museum and Holocaust MuseumCorey and Bob chaperoned a trip to the Missouri State Historical Society building and the Holocaust Museum. Both sites are excellent stops for history buffs. State Historical Society
A replica of the Spirit of St. Louis hangs from the ceiling. There were several major exhibit halls with exhibits on the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, history of the early years of St. Louis, the Industrialization of the area and many other topics. For more information visit: http://www.mohistory.org/ Holocaust MuseumThe Holocaust Museum is a small museum, but it has a great deal of information on one of the world's greatest tragedies. The trip through the museum goes chronologically through the event leading up to and including the detainment and murder of millions of European Jews. There is a lot of reading involved, but it was powerful stuff. There were maps, pictures and various artifacts from this era. The museum does a good job of helping the visitor learn of the tragedy involved and to try to help us learn from this horrific event. Many personal accounts were included in the text on the walls, which made the event much more real. We also saw a pretty good film on the holocaust that provided more information. It was a very interesting and extremely educational stop on the way. They also have a great deal of research materials available for study and can help with teachers with classroom materials as well.
