Tampa Bay Devil Rays

We added another baseball to our collection by visiting Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg where we saw the Tampa Bay Devil Rays defeat the Texas Rangers 10-6 in a very long, but fun game.  It was so long that we left after 7 innings because we still had 2 hours to drive back to our hotel.

This was the first time we had watched a baseball game in a dome.  It was an interesting experience.  We like the open air stadiums better, but this was still a neat park.  The concession areas were huge and there was all types of food there including an Outback Steakhouse and a Hooters.  We had our fair share of ballpark food - hot dogs, peanuts, beer, pop and ice cream.

Since both teams are struggling this year and it was a Wednesday night, it was really easy to get tickets.  We paid $14 a ticket for good seats on the first base side.  We sat in the terrace reserved section and had a great view.  Tickets were available in almost every section of the park including lower box.
