Old Market

The Old Market in Omaha is an historical section of town with a wide variety of different shops and restaurants.  We spent a good part of the day walking amongst the different shops.  There are many great restaurants there.  We had lunch at the Upstream Brewing Company.  We found the food delicious and their beer delightful.  There were many other good looking places to eat there too.  We deciding on the Upstream Brewing Company because it was closest to us when we decided to eat.  We had contemplated many other places as well.

There are many kinds of shops in the Old Market - most of which you will not find at any mall.  Here is just a partial listing of the types of shops available at in the Old Market.

  • Antique Stores
  • Clothing Stores
  • Book Stores
  • Galleries
  • Record Shops
  • Coffee Shops
  • Candy Shops
  • Many Specialty Stores selling items from baskets to silver to gifts from around the world

We enjoyed the Old Market.  It was a lot of fun seeing the different stores that are not available just anywhere.

Here's a site that can provide more information on the Old Market.  www.omahaoldmarket.com.  The site has a lot of stuff without a ton of information, but it is easy to navigate and gives a good overview of what you can expect to see if you visit.
