Atlanta Zoo
| The Atlanta Zoo was a totally
unplanned stop. We had three hours before we could get
into the stadium for the game and six hours before the game
actually started. The zoo was close so we decided to give
it a go. It was an okay zoo, but certainly not worth the
admission price of $16 each. |

The zoo does have a pair of Giant Pandas - 2 of only a small handful
in the United States. The pandas were cool, but outside that,
there wasn't anything real special. They didn't even have bears
other than the pandas. They did have a couple of pairs of tigers
and some lions and many other typical zoo animals, but for $16 we
thought it was a bit overpriced. Either that or the cost of zoos
has increased significantly in the last year.
Most of the exhibits were pretty well laid out and give the animals a
decent habitat - especially the gorillas. They have a lot of
gorillas. They also have a few orangutans and the red pandas
(pictured above) were fun to watch. We were disappointed that the
big monkey cage did not have any monkeys in it though, because they were
working on the cage or something.
Thoughts and Recommendations
- The admission price was pretty steep for an average zoo at
best.
- It only takes 2-3 hours to see the zoo.
