Great Vacation!
| Our big vacation of 2002 was a wonderful, 17 day
trip to Florida. We spent 6 nights in Clearwater Beach, 4 nights in
St. Augustine and also spent time in Charleston, South Carolina
and Atlanta, Georgia. We even made a couple of quick stops
in Kentucky and Tennessee. Our main goal was to
get plenty of beach time - something easily done in Clearwater, but
we were unable to in St. Augustine due to
less than ideal weather. Overall, it was a great trip! |

We did a wide variety of activities on the trip. We spent a lot
of time at the beach, went to some museums, saw a lot of wildlife, went
to a National Park and even went to a baseball game.
Thoughts and Recommendations
- We liked the beaches in the Clearwater area better than the
Atlantic Coast. This was largely due to the weather. In
the Spring, the Gulf Coast is warmer.
- Use sunscreen that is water proof and sweat proof.
- Watch a sunset over the Gulf and a sunrise over the
Atlantic. Both are awesome sites.
- Make sandcastles on the beach. You're never too old to do
this. It's a lot of fun and gets you creative.
- Take some time to see some of the wildlife. There are some
really interesting birds and if you're lucky (or take a tour boat)
you'll even see dolphins!
