3rd Time's a Charm

Not that the first two trips were bad by any means.  We had some much fun on those trips, we had to go back for a third time.  This trip to Duluth was another wonderful experience.  This year we took it easy and did more outdoor activities and went to less touristy type attractions.

One of our favorite activities this trip was adopting a sharp-shinned hawk (as seen at right) at Hawk Ridge.  See more pictures by going to our Hawk Ridge page.

Overall, we just took things as they came on took a pretty leisurely pace with everything.  We weren't in a hurry to go anywhere or do anything in particular (well, maybe Bob was pretty anxious about adopting a hawk, but otherwise we were pretty laid back).  One day we went to a couple of state parks, we found a new lighthouse in the area in Superior and we spent a lot of time in the Canal Park area.

The Fall colors were behind schedule, plus we were a little early so everything was pretty green while we were there.  The weather was mostly overcast and rainy at times, but it never stopped us from enjoying ourselves.  We had a great time once again.

If you can't tell by now, we really like going to Duluth.  This was the third year in a row we've gone up during the Fall.  Be sure to check out our other trips too.
