Gooseberry Falls State Park

Gooseberry Falls State Park is best known for the series of waterfalls that are within easy walking distance to reach.  The state park is actually much more than that, but for the second year in a row, we just took the time to walk around the waterfalls.

The weather was terrific the day we were there.  It was really busy though and despite the fact there is a lot of parking available, we had a tough time finding a place.  Saturday afternoon in the Fall is a busy time there.

You can walk all round and amongst the falls.  It is a short and easy walk from the Visitors Center.  After that, there are some stairs to get around and down to parts of the falls.  Here are some pictures from this year.  If you would like to see some pictures from last year, click here.

Thoughts/Recommendations

  • When the weather is nice on weekends, expect a lot of people to be there.  We want to go back sometime and go during the week when it won't be as busy.
  • It is a beautiful place to visit.  It's worth the stop, even if you only stay for an hour or two.
