Gooseberry Falls State Park

We lucked out with the weather on Saturday afternoon as the temperature was upper 40s, the sun was shining and the breeze was light.  We decided to head up to Gooseberry Falls State Park, a place we were hoping to go to, depending on the weather.  Bob had been there a few years before and thought it was beautiful.  We took the scenic North Shore drive to get there and it truly is scenic.  It was a beautiful day and a beautiful drive.  There were quite a few people there when we arrived.  The have a lot of parking and it was still pretty full - a hazard of going in the middle of a Saturday afternoon.  Once you get to the Visitors Center, the falls are a short walk down the trail.  You can walk in and around the falls.  We had a very enjoyable day walking around and taking a lot of pictures.

At times we tried to get artsy with our shots and tried to set up the perfect posed, but not posed pictures. It's a very scenic area that begs you to use your camera.  The Visitors Center is really nice also.  It has a huge gift shop and some interesting exhibits on the area.  We just saw a small piece of a really big park.  There is a lot more to see than just the falls, but that was all we had time for.  Here are a couple of links to more information on this park.
