Area Hotel Tips
We've included this section, because there are a ton of
motel/hotel options to choose from when going to the Wisconsin
Dells. Almost every place has a swimming pool of some
kind, while some have full-fledged water parks. There are
very fancy hotels and many budget motels. There is an
incredible number of options within 5-10 miles of each other in
this small town where tourists probably outnumber the residents
during the summer season. Wisconsin Dells and Lake Delton
have over 90 hotels and motels, which means there is a pretty
good chance you can get a room anytime, but it might not be the
room you want. Here are some general tips.
- Decide what type of hotel or motel you want to stay at and
make reservations ahead of time. Some places are more
popular than others, so it is best to decide where you may
want to stay so you do not have to settle for something
else.
- Visit our Area Information
page for some excellent links on lodging options.
- If you want a water park hotel, it is especially important
to do your research. Some have very small water parks,
while others have very elaborate water parks.
- This shouldn't be a surprise, but the water park hotels
are going to be much more expensive and will probably run
over $100 a night. We stopped in the Great Wolf Lodge
and the Kalahari Resort, both of which were full for the
night, and both were very
impressive.
- Everything is going to be a little more expensive here
during tourist season. Even the Motel 6 was around
$50-$60. Some of the best deals are on the edge of
town. Look for small outdoor pools for cheaper
places.
- There are numerous camping opportunities in the area if
you are really cost conscious.
